Played it a couple times with soul. It would work well enough if I optimized and finished it, but that's never what this map was about. I always wanted to make something halo 2-esque, and I needed to get that out, and actually, I learned a lot over the week or two I spent thinking about this map. Not because of the map itself or any implemented discoveries within it, but because it just got my mind working. Nooo!! (shakes fists defiantly) Any chance we could at least get a link to it? I was really looking forward to eventually getting a first hand look at it. :'(

I've always been a blockout guy, so seeing how you made the structures, no matter how obvious it looks, would be a great learning experience.

"Uncomfortable Silence" has been made public. Few things to say. First, the map in not finished, and never will be. Not much lighting, only a few areas that I would leave alone if I gave it another pass. Second, you'll see unfinished pathing without any textures. That area was thrown down just to be able to get a few games in. Finally, you'll see the sentinel tube tele system. Basically, it takes you in a crescent around the back of the map, from the bottom to the top, through what would be sentinel tunnels. Right now, there's only triangles placed on the wall to represent the tunnel faces, which you should all remember from the Sacred Icon mission. Anyways, that's about it. It's playable if you're really interested in it, but I can tell you right now that this map was nothing but compromises. Just to make a few forerunner pillars look right took half the budget. It's an insanely piece hungry shape language, so just keep that in mind. "Uncomfortable Silence" has been made public. Few things to say. I see what you mean about the forerunner architecture. Sheesh... It looks good though. The whole map looks pretty good for being unfinished. I like how porous your designs are. That's something that most aren't able to do. I always enjoy looking at your maps, regardless of how polished they are.

I rescaled my map. Started playing around with lighting and color this evening. Decided to try chroma boxing. I can see why that's the way to go. What year did this game come out? Like 2015? And I'm just now starting to really learn about lighting and color, lol. Gonna be a steep learning curve I'm sure. The textures are kind of a pain. It feels like that's going to be the most frustrating part for me at this point. Not enough variation with the overlays. I'm a noob though, so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Anyway, here's my work for the evening. This is obviously a WIP. Just experimenting, trying to figure out a solid color palette for both structure and lighting at this point.

I can't believe that I went from "hurr durr" with scripting to a full event system in Contagion. It's literally because I started taking coding classes, otherwise I would've never really attempted the room system. I still haven't been able to get some proper tests in for the poor thing due to not having an Xbone.
I'm thinking that I should keep all of my WIPs on this forum and ignore ForgeHub outside of map posts lol should I?
